Isla de Coiba and the Pacific Islands

Whilst most of the people think the best of Panama is exploring it along the Caribbean sea, the truth is the Pacific side holds as many attractions as the Caribbean coast. Amongst its many perks, the Pacific coast of Panama has a lot less tourists and therefore, accommodations are cheaper and the chances of availability are higher. Further, if you want to enjoy the local culture a lot better, this place will give you the opportunity to meet locals more closely and experience Panama beyond its touristy trails and gringo cliches.

The Coiba National Marine Park on the Pacific Coast is a marine diversity hub in the region with over 800 species of marine life, which makes it one of Panama’s best natural attractions. Boquete’s cool climate makes it great for coffee plantations and of course, the coffee tours are not scarce and the experience of trying some of the best coffee in the world makes it a pretty popular destination. Nonetheless, coffee is not Boquete’s only charm. Additionally, its mountain and waterfall hikes, trips to the Cangilones canyon and rock climbing sessions that end with a jump into the river.
